DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

The role is responsible for providing detailed technical know-how to the client and managing all Staging components of the event; ensuring targeted margins are achieved and that the Staging build is completed on time, within budget and to a quality at or above Client expectations.

Reporting to: Staging Operations Manager

Location: Mitcham initially,  with travel to other office locations as required; Moderate travel, mainly office-bound

Hours: 08:30am – 5:30pm plus availability for late / early shifts as required

Main Duties:

 Project Management for Staging Jobs:

Work closely with Clients to interpret a brief and provide alternative solutions to improve cost and quality

Provide Technical Staging input for the Client in the preparation and presentation of pitches

Work with Designers to bring a concept to life

Conduct site visits and recces from time to time

Develop and present Staging quotes to Clients

Manage relationships with Suppliers to secure appropriate materials

Brief and liaise with Workshop Manager and your team to ensure build is to spec

Manage crew relationships

Liaise with Logistics and Crew Bookings teams to book crew, transport & hotels

Manage Health and Safety (Risk Assessment / Method Statement)

Identify systems and procedural improvements for cost savings

Presite supervision:

Brief Crew Chief and relevant crew on all aspects of the job prior to going to site

Check and oversee deliveries for the relevant job

Oversee large installations when required

On site liaison with freelancers, Event Managers and Client

Check for Client satisfaction prior to leaving site (POD sign off)

Project Administration:

Raise purchase orders, assign incoming Supplier quotes to relevant jobs

Enter new Clients / Suppliers into the database

Order materials if necessary

Arrange dry hires

Liaise with logistics departments for deliveries/collections

Write and issue schedules to Workshop Manager

Collation of supplier documentation & RAMS for the venue

Research and sourcing of specific items as required on a job by job basis

Ensure ISO & BSI compliance

ISO filing & job completion

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience in set design, build and carpentry construction preferably within the events industry

Working knowledge of metal, acrylic, laminate and display printing

Proven experience with Client handling preferably within the live events industry

On site event management experience preferred

Experience with RAMS

Full working knowledge of CAD

Full driving license

Key Relationships:

Reporting to the Staging Operations Manager

Working in close co-operation with Workshop Manager, Workshop team and clients

Additional requirements:

The job holder must pass the stringent security vetting procedures required for accredited venues

including Royal venues and functions

The job holder will be expected to work flexibly according to their event schedule, recognising that

significant evening and weekend coverage will be required.
