Our client, Incredible Management, requested the build of a giant logo for the Airbnb Open in Paris. They required a structure that would make an impact, therefore we worked alongside the designers to choose suitable materials to ensure Airbnb’s logo would be structurally sound. We also ensured that the cost and the construction process would suit the original specification.
Airbnb is a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodation around the world — online or from a mobile phone or tablet.
Airbnb’s designs were carefully analysed and the initial drawings were developed by our Draughtsmen, in order to meet structural and aesthetic requirements. The giant logo was intended to be hung in an area where the public would have access, thus its components had to meet the required health and safety standards.
Two metal frames were developed by our Metal workshop using steel tubes, which were fabricated with a timber treatment, created by our Carpenters. The frames were painted using silver and pink polyurethane spray paint, then delivered and installed at the client’s preferred location. The giant logo was installed at the Parc de la Villette in Paris, where the event took place from November 12th – 14th.
Various departments in the workshop including: the Metal workshop, the Carpentry workshop and the Paint shop, collaborated to make this project a success and to bring the client’s concept to life, which resulted in another win-win result, thereby reflecting our ethos.
