Staff Appreciation Day Five: Smile with Steven Somner

9th June 2016

June has arrived, which means it’s time to introduce another positive, passionate and key member of Team Setsquare for Staff Appreciation Day.

Life at Setsquare Staging

Today, we shine the light on Steven, three and a half years ago he joined the Setsquare family and has since become an asset to the company. Steven has brought warmth and hard work to the business support team, ensuring all our spaces are kept in order, from: the carpentry & joinery workshop, metal workshop, paint workshop, model shop, covering department to the entire office area. His daily actions allow a safe and friendly environment, for our teams to work and focus on a daily delivery of innovative creative solutions, which are then developed and delivered for all of our clients.

During his time at Setsquare, Steven has also had the opportunity to visit events with the Installation Teams, witnessing the delivery of bespoke furniture and models and joining in the production, development and delivery of industry leading brand experiences. The most recent site he visited was at the ExCeL Centre, London. He is now looking forward to visiting Goodwood’s Festival of Speed; where our teams are busy working hard to produce and deliver multiple projects for world renowned automotive clients (wink!).

From the first day he joined, Steven is constantly going the extra mile and he does so with a smile, a good word and positive advice for each colleague. This positivity at work is the reason why his co-workers say that “he is able to put a smile on the face of everyone he meets”.

Steven was born on the beautiful Island of Bermuda in the Caribbean. Mark Twain once said, “You go to heaven if you want – I’d rather stay here in Bermuda.” Who can blame him! Especially since the island is surrounded by the most beautiful beaches, perfect for sunbathing, alongside crystal-clear waters, giving the perfect excuse for snorkelling and kayaking. Maybe, we could book this year’s Christmas party there?! Yes, Yes, Yes!

We would like to say a big thank you to Steven for always brightening up our days with his positive outlook and wise words of advice.
