Topshop Unique at London Fashion Week
At this year’s London Fashion Week, Topshop Unique SS17 celebrated everything that is cool and unique about British style and heritage. Once again, collaborating with NEWGEN to globally introduce new designers, including Molly Goddard, Teatum Jones and Rob Jones. Overseen by Creative Director and Vogue editor Kate Phelan, the Unique runway show was one of the most highly anticipated on the London Fashion Week schedule.
Team Setsquare were appointed by MG Studio to produce and install the sleek runway with a matte white finish, showcasing the Topshop Unique SS17 collection at Spitalfields Market. The quick turnaround for the project was exceptionally managed by our Projects, Draughting, Carpentry, Paint and Installation teams, who not only produced and delivered the project on time and within budget, but also to the client’s highest expectations.
Thank you so much for all your hard work on Saturday evening. The set you built was perfect, you understood exactly what we wanted and the finish was perfect too.
It was such a relief to know we could leave it all in your capable hands!
This year, Topshop Unique announced their collections to be ‘instantly shoppable’, moving towards a ‘see-now-buy-now’ approach, allowing pioneering fashionistas to purchase the looks as seen on the runways, rather than waiting for the arrival of the collections in-store.
Topshop prides itself on embracing pioneering VR digital technology, and worked in collaboration with Inition to live stream a virtual reality experience of the show within Topshop’s Oxford Circus flagship store. Participants watching the show were able to view a 360-degree experience that blended live action from the runways, backstage and VIP arrivals via headsets installed within the window display of the flagship store.
This season’s live stream in virtual reality… takes the idea of a traditional fashion show to a new dimension.

London Fashion Week
Organised by the British Fashion Council (BFC), London Fashion Week takes place twice a year to give top international talent a chance to present their collections to global press, industry buyers, bloggers, photographers, influencers and fashionistas around the world. Many of the events take place at the British Fashion Council Show Space on Brewer Street. Other venues include the BFC Presentation Space, Elms Lesters Painting Rooms and the On/Off Vinyl Factory.
Throughout the years, Team Setsquare has worked closely with brands including Burberry, Tata Naka, Atelier Swarovski, Hunter Original, Paul Smith and Vivienne Westwood Red Label, amongst others, to build both bespoke retail window displays and innovative set designs.
This season, Topshop have definitely set the bar high by incorporating digital and fast fashion into high fashion. The countdown has started as we all wait in anticipation for the AW17 show.
